Home Free

It has been quite some time since my last post and we have received some terrific news. Megan had her one month follow up with Dr. Rivera, our pediatric neurologist at Texas Children’s, yesterday. He did a thorough check of her reflexes, responsiveness, and a head measurement. He said that she looked absolutely normal and that he believes that her hemorrhage has completely resolved itself. As a final confirmation, he scheduled a ultrasound for this morning to make sure that she was indeed fine. He said that if the results come back clear, we are “home free,” the two most beautiful words I’ve heard in a long time! So at 7:15 AM this morning Megan had the ultrasound. Her brain looked so normal that the technician had to ask which side of her brain the hemorrhage took place on because both sides looked perfect. The radiologist also reviewed the scan and confirmed that the scan looked totally normal. Although we won’t hear from Dr. Rivera until tomorrow, it looks like we are indeed baby_bath“HOME FREE!” Praise God! Ellen and I truly believe that God healed our daughter.

I have been thinking a lot about the story of Jesus and the Centurion who asks him to heal his servant. He tells Jesus not to trouble himself with coming all the way to the servant, but simply to say the word and his servant would be healed. Jesus did say the word and of course the servant was healed. The same God healed Megan, he brought wholeness and peace through his tremendous power and willingness – I am so grateful.

Thank you all again for your ceaseless prayer and encouragement. Now I can shift my prayers/anxiety to more pressing things like the year 2025 when she starts driving.
